Good Food, Good Times, GREAT Cause!

By Clare Winfrey, Austin, Texas

So, it has pretty much been established that we all love a fine dine. When restaurants participate in Austin (or any city’s) Restaurant Week we all click our heels in excitement of a delicious three-course meal and deal. This is no exception. Sullivan’s Steakhouse is proudly sponsoring Susan G. Komen’s Fight Against Breast Cancer by keeping your “Palate in the Pink.”

This three-course dinner is $39.95 and 13%, or $5.00, of every Susan G. Komen Dinner served is donated to the foundation. Sullivan’s has also guaranteed a minimum donation of $30,000 in case people aren’t interested in the menu. Go Sullivan’s! The best part, this deal was available on September 30th and goes until November 23rd so you have plenty of time to enjoy it, maybe even more than once!

The first course is your typical salad or soup choice. The entrees include a choice of salmon filet, filet mignon, or crab stuffed shrimp. You also get to choose TWO sides from broccoli, horseradish-mashed potatoes, crab-fried rice (YUM!), green beans, or skillet steak mushroom caps. Mouth watering yet? Unlike most of the one or two choice desserts on the Restaurant Week menus, you have four to choose from. Detailed menu can be found here.

You will notice that some of the choices have a pink heart next to them. These items are considered to be healthier choices and research has shown that a healthier diet may lower the risk of breast cancer.

So, get out there and enjoy a delicious meal for an AMAZING cause! I know I will be! With 19 locations to choose from, yes even you Alaska!, everyone can get in on the action. Check out this link for your nearest location.
