Americans at Their Best, Discussing Self Esteem

This bit by Creature Comforts is not only hilarious, but pretty poignant in it's portrayal of the average American discussing their self esteem. These interviews took place all of the US and were animated for your viewing pleasure.

The way they portrayed the different people depending on what they said is pretty amusing. It really cracked me up when they showed a pig in the mud with piglets and a older pig standing near by:
(mom pig) "I never take much stock in physical appearance."
(older pig) "She doesn't, she doesn't if she did she'd put on some make up or fix her hair..."

Note to self: don't get caught on film talking about this.

What I'd Do This Weekend if I Weren’t Going to Be Living the Credit Card Millionaire’s Dream in Miami

By Jordan Jeffus

There’s some good shiz going down in Austin this Labor Day weekend, but alas, I’ll be partying up South Beach-style, spending money I don’t have… Ahhh the life of an underpaid bridesmaid!

Start off your Saturday with some mimosas and get ready for the first UT football game vs. University of Louisiana Monroe at 6p.m. Tailgating is required.

If sports isn’t your thing, head to La Zona Rosa for a solo Jesse Woods (http://www.myspace.com/jessewoodsband) show with special guest Gum B. Jesse’s a sexy little singer/songwriter in Austin that Peter Mongillo from the Austin American-Statesman has been quoted saying “where the heck did this guy come from?” Check out “Drunken Cowboy Stole My Music Maker,” written about a bum Jesse frequently let into his home that stole his guitar (don’t worry-he got it back). As an added bonus, everyone in attendance gets a free demo. Tix are $7.

Check out the Facebook invite here:http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=126540197026&ref=ts

If you’re looking for something a little more uppity than a singer/songwriter, head over to Beauty Bar for the Launch Party of Auto Body (http://www.myspace.com/autobodyautobody), a new elector fusion duo hitting the Austin late-night scene. I saw these guys perform in my friend’s backyard after Ghostland Observatory in New Braunfels, and it is a TREAT.

Check out a video taken from the party here:

Their Facebook invite says “protective eyeware recommended,” and they mean it. Their deep base beats are paired with a crazy light show that is F-U-N to noodle to but can be gnarly on the corneas. Joining the duo will be several other Austin DJs. Tix are only $5. FB invite, engage: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=140075352517&mid=105e761G78bf7eG76babd4G7.
