Fall Handbags 2009

The '09 Fall handbags are very diverse and luckily so are the price ranges. Here's a list of some of the hottest trends for fall that are available at both high and low price points.

1) Studded bags are all the rage this fall. Here's
Mui Mui's version (left), let's just say price upon request. If you haven't won the lottery lately then Tory Burch's version is a little more reasonable at $575 (top right).

I'm also loving Top Shop's studded gray version complete with tassle (so, hot right now) and chain (also, very hot right now) and at $125 you know that the price is right.

2) Frame bags with structure are also huge right now. Think less slouchy oversized Olsen twin bag and more ladylike. Armani has a lovely nude break-the-bank version (left).

For the more economically minded set Top Shop has a beautiful green croc version ($44) that combines the classic frame look and the animal skin trend that seems to stick around just about every season.

3) Suede has made a major comeback this fall and a can be found in an assortment of couplings such as Derek Lam's classic grey bag (left).

A more affordable alternative lies in Top Shop's trendy tricolor leather satchel ($100). This back is chock full of this fall's trends: minimalist hardware, animal skin, and suede.

4) We mustn't forget the importance of chain detail in this season's bags. As I mentioned above it is all over the place despite many fashion mags description of minimal hardware for fall. Checkout Pucci's python version on the right and a very affordable Urban Outfitters version on the left available in a variety of colors($49.99).

5) Finally, we come to the last big trend of fall: FUR. I, for one, love fur. but alas, my Austin, Texas address calls for it very rarely. No matter your ethical viewpoint on fur you must admit that it looks ravishing on this Fendi clutch (lower left)

Also, Top Shop has done an excellent job capturing this trend with a PETA friendly faux fur version and at $55 I know that it's appropriate for that one day in Austin that it gets below 50 degrees...

Happy Shopping
